Breathing New Life into Morris College’s Home Court

When was the last time your gym’s floor truly reflected the pride and energy of its athletes? At Morris College, the answer came with a complete transformation that turned decades of wear into a vibrant, high-performance surface in just two weeks. What once showed the marks of time and heavy use is now a court that matches the spirit, tradition, and excellence of the students who play on it. The newly refinished floor inside the Garrick Boykin Human Development Center isn’t just visually striking. It’s a powerful statement of school pride, athletic commitment, and long-term durability.

DESIGN + PLANNING

For over 25 years, the facility’s basketball court had been in need of a full renovation. The project began with a complete sanding down to bare wood, followed by the application of custom colors and a new logo that captures the college’s identity. With a tight event schedule, efficiency and attention to detail were crucial throughout the planning process to minimize disruptions for students and programs.

CONSTRUCTION + INSTALLATION

Time was critical, and our team delivered. All phases, from preparing the floor to applying finish, seal, paint, stain, and graphics, were completed in just two weeks. The result is a vibrant, durable court designed to handle daily use and showcase school pride on game day. Materials were selected for longevity and quality, ensuring years of reliable performance.

IMPACT + RESULTS

The feedback has been unanimous: Morris College loves the new court. The project was completed on schedule and within budget in August 2025. Basketball games and practices now take place on a surface that perfectly aligns with the college’s vision.
